Episode 29 – THE DEV Cat Reversed a Bugfix and Did Not Care

Scene 1 – The Patch

The sprint was almost over.
Green checks everywhere.

A single commit appeared in the repo:

fix: edge-case in production

🐱 THE DEV Cat sat on the keyboard.

(=ↀωↀ=)
No tests were harmed.
Or so they thought.

Scene 2 – The Review That Didn’t Happen

👤 PM opened the diff.

Lines moved.
Indentation shifted.
Logic… suspiciously simpler.

“Did you review this?”

🐱 DEV Cat blinked.

( •_•)>⌐■-■
Nothing was said.

The merge button glowed.

Scene 3 – The Reversal

At 03:17 AM
Monitoring screamed.

🛑 Latency climbed.
🛑 Logs contradicted themselves.

The Cat returned.

One command.

git revert HEAD

No branch.
No discussion.

┬──┬︵╰(°□°╰)
Bugfix undone.

Scene 4 – The Calm After

Errors stopped.
Graphs flattened.

The original bug returned.
Quiet. Known. Predictable.

🐱 DEV Cat curled up on the server rack.

(=ᵔωᵔ=)
Stability restored.

Post-Credits Scene

In the commit history, a note appeared:

revert: fix edge-case
reason: not today

CI passed.

Nobody asked again.
